Adult Formation: Bible 101 – Jan. 21 to March 4

Making Sense of the Bible by Adam HamiltonHow and when was the Bible written? Who decided which books made it into the scriptures and why? How literally should we read it? Is the Bible ever wrong?

These are honest questions people all across the spectrum ask about the collection of writings called the Bible that we Christians use as holy scripture. Led by Pastor Matt, this six-session series will invite you into an honest conversation about questions like these and more. Making use of the book Making Sense of the Bible: Rediscovering the Power of Scripture Today by Adam Hamilton, we’ll seek to explore and unpack our questions about the Bible and what it is… but more importantly, we’ll hopefully seek after a deeper appreciation of the Bible so that we might hear God speak through it and find its words to be life-changing and life-giving.

The series will be meeting on 6 Wednesday evenings, January 21 – March 4, at 6:30 pm in the SCC Library.  (No session on February 18th due to Ash Wednesday.)

This adult formation series has a minimum enrollment of 6 and a maximum of 10, so please do RSVP! (This series will be repeated as a regular part of our ongoing adult formation offerings.) Also, your RSVP will help us in preparing materials and ordering the book.
