August 12: Summer Joint Worship Celebration – Holy Communion

We join with our sisters and brothers in Christ from St. Mark’s Episcopal Chapel for our 7th-annual summertime joint worship service of Word and Feast.  We’ll hear the good news proclaimed through the children and youth who participated in this year’s “Step into the Water” Faith Row Vacation Bible School, and then share as one body in the one bread joyfully given to us at Christ’s table.  Held this year here at SCC.

August 26:  The 21st Sunday in Ordinary Time – UConn Welcome Weekend

We rally for a new season here at SCC on August 26th as we welcome UConn students back into our midst… as our Adult Choir resumes… and as we share in a Blessing of the “Backpacks” (really, a blessing of the students carrying those backpacks) for students of all ages as classes resume.  UConn students will be welcomed with a breakfast on the lawn before worship, and all of us will share in conversation and refreshments out front following.

Pastor Matt preaching: “Getting Your Back to School Clothes”

Scripture:  Psalm 34:15-22 & Ephesians 6:10-20
