From the Adult Sunday School
The Sunday Adult Forum is continuing its study of the book, “The Future of Faith” by the legendary Harvard scholar Harvey Cox.  The author has divided the 2,000+ years of Christian history into three eras:  1)  Age of Faith, which began with Jesus and his immediate disciples, 2)  Age of Belief from 387 to about 1950, which is characterized by a system of creeds and hierarchy,

3)  Age of the Spirit, which reveals how doctrines and dogma are giving way to community, social justice, and spiritual experience.  Our discussions (now on Chapter 9) are primarily focused on the book but are also based upon relevant personal experiences of class members.  Please feel free to join us each Sunday at 9:00 a.m. in the Parish House Memorial Room.  All are welcome, as are all viewpoints!

C.A.F.E. Storrs continues to meet in the Library at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays with leadership alternating between Pastors Matt and Nancy.  The group has been working with a fabulous lectionary resource, Faith Element, which provides helpful framing for the Sunday ahead.  Join us for stimulating conversation and coffee!

Playground Ministry is back!

During July and August kids are welcome to join in our annual playground ministry.  Hosted by a different congregant each week, children listen to Bible stories while sharing a snack and some lemonade in the shade.  Afterward, free play and games are encouraged in our church’s outdoor space.  Children are always welcome to remain in worship for the Festival Worship, however Playground Ministry is an alternative space for children to explore God’s world with one another.
