At its January 8^th meeting the Governing Board:

• Directed the Treasurer to transfer the remaining amount in the Director of Musical Ministry 2018 professional expense account to the Director of Music Ministry off-budget professional expense account. Trisha needed to postpone her sabbatical for a year, and this money will be used in conjunction with her sabbatical project.
• Approved new Expense Authorization numbers for the 2019 Budgeted Accounts.  (The Treasurer is renumbering the Income and Expense sections within PowerChurch to align with the new budget structure.)
• Re-affirmed the vote taken via e-mail directing the Treasurer to apply received Memorial and Special Gifts funds as recommended by the Memorial and Special Gifts and the Finance and Administration Committee.
• Directed the Treasurer to apply the entire anticipated 2018 operating budget surplus of approximately $3,713 to Our Church’s Wider Mission (OCWM) to bring our church close to our typical $16,000 level of giving in 2019.
• Identified a process for performance review of paid clergy and staff.
• Continued discussion of ways toengage the Congregation in conversation around the church’s mission and purpose.  A magnetic board and key words and phrases brainstormed by the Board in October and November will be set up in the Lounge, and the congregation is encouraged to arrange the words and phrases into their own visions of a possible Mission Statement.  Young members of our church family will take photos of the words and phrases to assist the Governing Board in the next phase of mission statement development.
• Continued a visioning conversation on “What would ‘success’ look like in the realms of participation and engagement?”
