Food Pantry

Thank you for your generosity in helping to keep our Food Pantry stocked. Recently, due to the government shut-down the impact of food insecurities has been brought to the attention of many people in our community and their desire to help is strong.

Please share the news that the Food Pantry at SCC gratefully accepts donations from the community and that items may be brought to the Parish House during the week or dropped off on Sunday before and after Worship.

Families that receive SNAP food assistance will be facing the real possibility of not receiving any additional support following the February distribution? Many families that rely on SNAP benefits may face 30 – 40 day gaps where they will not have access to any funds for food.

Some families affected by the shutdown are not receiving a paycheck and are unable to provide food for their families and the Food Pantry has become a vital necessity; stocking it takes the whole community. Let’s see if we can help the community get involved.

Here are some items that are always needed:

  • Cereal (hot or cold)
  • Peanut Butter
  • Jam & Jelly
  • Canned Pasta Dinners
  • Canned chicken & Canned meats
  • Stews
  • Corned Beef Hash
  • Mayonnaise
  • Canned Fruit (unsweetened)

Folks that have been using the Food Pantry have been very thankful for the personal hygiene items, soap, laundry soap and cleaning supplies that have been donated as these items cannot be purchased with SNAP funds. You can bring your contributions to the Parish House and leave them in the Food Pantry or bring them to Worship and leave them in the grocery cart and we’ll take care of shelving the items.
