What is the Call to Care Team Ministry? The "Call to Care" Team Ministry is organized under the Board of Deacons with a Call to Care Coordinator (Pamela Roberts) and committee members who coordinate portions of the program which is implemented by a diverse team made up of any and all in the church who can contribute. The Call to Care Team Ministry works in collaboration with the professional staff, other boards and committees, and families of members and friends of the church to:
We openly admit our need for each other. We embrace the concept of a church as a relationship among people and God -- not just a building in which we worship once a week. Nearly everyone in the church community participates in some way at some point in the year. Each person shares their gifts and talents in ways that are comfortable for them and helpful to others. With caring respect for each person's unique worth as a child of God, needs are identified and plans to support both long or short term needs are put in place using one or more of the programs in the Call to Care Ministry. Those receiving some support often also support others. The Storrs Congregational Call to Care Team Ministry is modeled after UCC “Called to Care” concept.
