Call To Care

Keeping in Touch

Card, phone, and email correspondence shows we care about and appreciate all persons in our church community whether they are physically, emotionally, or spiritually isolated or actively contributing in our midst.

A “Share a Greetings List” of persons who would appreciate correspondence including those in nursing homes or who have recently moved out of town is updated at least quarterly and available in the church Narthex and Parish House lounge or by contacting our church office.

Individuals and family units as well as groups and church school classes use the list to generate supportive contacts throughout the year including holiday wishes. Potential exists for families to “adopt” someone for ongoing contacts, to share interests in a pen pal format, exchange poetry, bird watching or bible study ideas. An ongoing card ministry for celebration of anniversaries and birthdays is coordinated by Laura Gilbert.

To volunteer, suggest ways to enhance the “Keeping in Touch” program or to identify a need contact Call to Care Coordinator Jan Hoyle.

An email prayer group is in its infancy. Watch for more information in the future.
