MUSIC PROGRAM

Adult Choir

Storrs Congregational Church is well known in the area for its wonderful music program. Our adult choir consists of 20 to 25 dedicated singers who provide choral music for the worship service almost every Sunday from September through Pentecost. At special times of the liturgical year (Advent, Christmas, Holy Week, Easter) we present special music appropriate for the season.

This year, the choir will present Gabriel Faure's Requiem during 10 a.m. worship on Sunday, November 2, 2008.  Singers interested in joining with the choir for this special occasion should contact our Director of Music Ministry, Trisha Snyder, as soon as possible and before the end of
September.  Rehearsals will be held Friday, October 3, 6-9 p.m. and Saturday, October 4, 9 a.m.-noon.  Additional Thursday evening rehearsals will be October 23 and 30. The dress rehearsal with instrumental ensemble is Saturday, November 1, 10 a.m.-noon. 

Our service of Lessons and Carols for Advent and Christmas is Sunday, December 7 at 7:00 p.m.  Modeled on the service broadcast from King's College, Cambridge, England, the Nine Lessons are interspersed with congregational carols and special music by our choirs, handbells and instrumentalists. Please contact Trisha if you would like to join our musical ensembles on this occasion.
