Prayer Shawl Ministry
As a part of our larger Call to Care Ministry, our team of prayer shawl makers–knitters and crocheters–create loving embodiments of God’s all-enfolding love and presence.
These prayer shawls are given to families experiencing loss or pastoral crisis, to parents presenting infants and young children for the sacrament of Holy Baptism, and to many others for whom we know a sign of our congregation’s prayers and God’s presence would be of comfort and help.
Many members of the prayer shawl team get together on the 4th Thursday of each month at 10:00 am in the SCC Library. The team, however, welcomes the ministry of many other knitters and crocheters from throughout the congregation who are not able to gather on a weekday morning.
May God’s grace be upon this shawl, warming, comforting, enfolding and embracing – sustaining in good times as well as difficult ones.
May you be cradled in hope, kept in joy, graced with peace and wrapped in love.
