Singers & Ringers Wanted!

Categories: Carillon Newsletter,Music,News

All are welcome to join our vibrant music ministry by singing, ringing or the playing of instruments!

CHOIR rehearsals begin with a general warm-up where we do exercises to free our bodies, engage the breath, activate our minds and vocalize together. We work on five or six anthems a rehearsal in a wide variety of musical styles. Regular attendance is encouraged but we make exceptions to accommodate you when schedules fill up. Music is usually available in advance for those who wish to prepare on their own. Our mission is to offer music to the glory of God on behalf of the congregation. We sing most Sundays from the end of August until June. Rehearsals are in the Meetinghouse chancel.

THURSDAYS 7:30-9:00PM, SUNDAYS at 9:00AM

HANDBELL ringers join a dedicated band of players who meet once a week to hone their skills. We play from color marked scores so music reading is helpful, but not essential. We usually work on one to two pieces at a time and play in worship when schedules permit. Attendance is somewhat more critical here as each player is assigned their own part. An introduction to bell playing is offered to anyone who would like to learn how to play. Contact trisha@storrscongchurch.org or leave a message at the church office.
Rehearsals are in the Meetinghouse balcony.

THURDAYS 6:30-7:20PM

INSTRUMENTALISTS enrich our music ministry in many ways, from solo pieces to providing accompaniment for hymns and choral music. In addition to those who have studied an instrument we are wondering if there are folks who might like to join an impromptu drumming circle? Are you interested in exploring the Carillon? Please let Trisha know your special interest or musical talent!
