WAIM Walk for Warmth – November 22

Categories: News

Immediately following worship on Sunday, November 22, it is off to Willimantic for the 2o15 Walk for Warmth sponsored by the Windham Area Interfaith Ministry (WAIM).

The Walk for Warmth raises money to help out neighbors who are having trouble making ends meet to keep their heat and utilities on during the cold winter months. Teams from Storrs Congregational Church (SCC) are being formed to show out support for this wonderful and necessary event to try to exceed last year’s total.

Also, Pastors Matt Emery and Nancy McLaren are having a friendly contest to see how many pledges they can raise.

Registration begins at 1 p.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church on Valley Street in Willimantic. There will be an interfaith service beginning at 1:30 p.m. with the walk to start at 2:15 p.m.

The minimum donation is $20 per walker. You can register or make a pledge on WAIM’s website.

Bring your family. Bring a friend. Put on your walking shoes and help raise money for a great cause and even greater need!
