No matter what your political or partisan leanings, it’s hard to deny that we face a significant set of elections in our country this November. Transcending (or perhaps adding to) whatever partisan perspectives any of us may have, how do we approach participation in the electoral process from our places of Christian faith? How do we think and act through coherent and faithful ethical and moral frameworks in our citizenship and political participation?

Come next Sunday, October 2nd, for an after-worship forum conversation on just these sorts of deep, discerning questions. Joining us will be Dr. Ryan McAnnally-Linz, associate research scholar with Yale Divinity School’s Center for Faith & Culture, who will present and lead us in thinking through these issues. Dr. McAnnally-Linz is co-author of the recently-released book Public Faith in Action: How to Think Critically, Engage Wisely, and Vote with Integrity (click to find it on Amazon.com), a nonpartisan handbook that offers Christians practical guidance for thinking through complicated public issues and faithfully following Jesus as citizens of their countries, focusing on enduring Christian commitments that should guide judgments and encourage legitimate debate among Christians over how to live out core values.
