It’s Sunday morning and it’s snowing! Now what? In the event that in-person worship service needs to be canceled any given week due to inclement weather, we will most likely still have a worship service on Zoom that you can attend from the safety and comfort of your home. The safety of our congregants, volunteers, and staff is our main priority, although parking and walking challenges that remain after a storm is over, such as excessive ice, or mountains of piled up snow that eats up our parking spots, also influence our decision making.
In the event of a cancelation, we will send out an all-church e-mail to everyone in our database as soon as a decision has been made by our Pastor and Governing Board. We will also post the information on Facebook and on our website. Click the red “online worship” button on the right side of our home page for instructions on connecting to online worship.
Occasionally the weather clears up, or doesn’t seem as bad, after we’ve made an in-person cancelation announcement. We make our decisions in good faith based on information available at the time and we appreciate your grace if we happen to get it wrong!
We also urge you to make your own decision based upon your own comfort level in any circumstance. Please use your best judgment when deciding to drive, to services or any church activities, as conditions may vary significantly in different areas. No one should put themselves at risk.
Thankfully technology exists that we can still have a meaningful worship experience while staying safe.
