Come help celebrate 90 years of service to women and children – locally, state-wide, and across the world!

The 90th Spring Gathering of Connecticut Women of the UCC (United Church of Christ) will take place Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 8:30 am to 3 pm at the Mystic Congregational Church, 43 East Main Street, Mystic, Connecticut.

The theme for 2018 is “I Was in Prison and You Came to Visit Me”, from Matthew 25:36.

This year, the gathering will have a five-member panel representing different aspects of Prison Ministry:

  • Adam Smedberg, of Church World Service, who will talk about children of incarcerated parents;
  • Rev. Marilyn Kendrix, author of a book about mass incarceration;
  • Rev. Gordon Bates, author of a book about the Connecticut Prison Association;
  • Laurie Blefeld,  from A Sacred Place, who will speak about women prisoners; and
  • Catherine Zall, executive director of the New London Homeless Hospitality Center.

As this is a celebratory year, there will be some surprises in store for everyone, including a take-home gift for all.

To avoid the late fee, register by the deadline of Monday, April 16 ($20.00); after April 16, the registration fee will be $25.00.

Registration forms are available in the Parish House Lounge of Storrs Congregational Church, or by request through the church office (860 429-9382).
