We are all concerned about the epidemic of gun violence in our country.

Presently our U.S. Senators from Connecticut are advocating for more federal funding for gun violence prevention research by the Center for Disease Control since is is a public health emergency.  This is exactly the same position taken in the form of a 2017 Synod Resolution by the national United Church of Christ (UCC). The “gun violence prevention team” of the Just Peace Team has proposed a letter to the Committee in Washington which may be able to promote a bill to provide funding for gun violence prevention research.

The letter is linked below for you to download and print, sign, and send to Washington. We also will be handing out the letter after church at Storrs Congregational on April 15th for members to sign.  Help us to take this step of advocacy toward gun violence prevention.
